Minnesota Youth Ski League – Nordic Ski
Northfield youth and volunteers will gather weekly on Sundays from Jan. 4-Feb. 22, 2026, for Northfield SkiSparks 10th season. This learn-to-ski program is run by local volunteers and supported by MyXC’s curriculum and structure. Youth will learn under the same organization that taught Jessie Diggins to cross-country ski!
Kids ages 4-12 learn the basics through group games, exploring the trails of the Carleton Arboretum, and focusing on skill building. Rental equipment for youth is available on a first-come, first-served basis. It’s a great way to be outside together as a family on a Sunday afternoon. Sessions are 3-4:30 p.m. If there is no natural snow, a back-up location and time is available at the trails at Hyland Hills in Bloomington.
Registration for children of volunteer coaches begins Oct. 9. Tiered registration based on volunteer commitment will continue through the month. Go to www.myxc.org for more information.

Northfield Soccer Club
With the cooler weather, changing leaves and kids back in school, it’s the perfect time to be thinking of … summer soccer! Registration is open for the Northfield Soccer Club’s summer 2026 traveling season and will remain open through October. We hope to have tryouts in November, so it’s important that we have players signed up before that time.
Registration for the NSC summer season requires a $100 deposit to hold your spot, which will be applied toward the registration fee. You may choose to pay the registration fee in full at the time of registration or utilize the payment plan and break it into three portions. We also offer scholarships in partnership with the Northfield Youth Sports Collaborative and the Community Action Center.
To learn more and register, visit www.northfieldsoccer.org/traveling.
