Minnesota Youth Ski League – Nordic Ski

Northfield kids and volunteers will gather weekly for eight Sundays starting Jan. 3, 2027, for the eleventh season of Northfield SkiSparks. This learn-to-ski program is run by local volunteers and supported by MyXC’s curriculum and structure. Your kids will learn under the same organization that taught Jessie Diggins to cross-country ski!

Kids ages 4-12 learn the basics through group games, exploring the trails of the Carleton Arboretum, and focusing on skill building. We can offer rental equipment to youth on a first-come, first-served basis. Sessions are 3-4:30 p.m. If there is no natural snow, we have a backup location of the trails at Hyland Hills in Bloomington, 3:30-5 p.m. This is a great way to be get outside and enjoy winter.

Northfield Community Education

Northfield Community Ed has the following programs starting in November! Check the website for more details on:

• Age-Friendly Pickleball (For families with children, too, not just older adults!)
• Middle School Basketball Camp (grades 6-8)
• Gumdo (ages 12+)
• Holiday Horse Camp (grades 1-12)
• Basketball Camp (ages 6-12)

Northfield Lacrosse Association

Northfield Girls Lacrosse is hosting a free clinic on Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Dundas Dome for all ages and experience levels. Register at NorthfieldLacrosse.com.

Northfield Skating School

Join Northfield Skating School to continue celebrating our 20th season of building skills and confidence for skating in the BRAND-NEW ARENA! Come join the fun and experience the new arena together. Registration for group classes through Northfield Community Education will open Dec. 3. Classes are open for ages 4-adult, beginner through advanced athletes. Winter classes almost always fill, so reserve your spot early!

Northfield Volleyball Club

Last chance to register your girls for the winter volleyball club season! You must register by Nov. 19 and be able to attend tryouts on Nov. 22. Check the website for more information.

Northfield Wrestling

Registration is open for K-12 boys and girls!

Northfield and James Gang Wrestling welcomes boys and girls in grades K-12 of all levels for the 2026-27 season. Wrestling teaches commitment, drive, and discipline, all great qualities for kids to build as they grow.

Youth (K-6): The James Gang season starts Thursday, Nov. 5. Girls (novice and advanced) options are available. Register at northfieldwrestling.sportngin.com.

Middle and High School: Winter activities registration is open now. Student-athletes must have a current sports physical on file when registering. The first day of practice is Monday, Nov. 23. Register at northfield.affinety.com.
