Northfield Community Education
Holiday Horse Camp: Ages 4-18, Monday and Tuesday, 12/29 and 12/30, 9 a.m.-4 p.m., Cornerstone on the Vermillion
Basketball Camp: Ages 6-13, Monday and Tuesday, 12/29 and 12/30, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Greenvale Park Elementary School
Free Open Gym Pickleball: All ages (including youth with an adult present), Sundays, 12-4 p.m., Northfield High School
Registration for all of our Northfield Community Education classes running January through May will open on Friday, Dec. 5! We have all of your favorites, and as always, some new things as well!

Northfield Skating School
Skating lessons make a GREAT holiday gift! Learn or improve your skating skills this winter with Northfield Skating School.
Winter lessons run Jan. 11-Feb. 22 at the Northfield Ice Arena. SAVE THE DATE: Registration through Northfield Community Education starts on Dec. 5 and is open until classes fill. Join our professional coaching team at the rink to build skills and confidence for skating and for life! Limited private lessons available to those enrolled in the group program.
This program is operated by Northfield Community Education; questions may be directed to the Community Ed office.
NSS CELEBRATES 20 YEARS – YOU ARE INVITED!
Help us celebrate 20 years of building skills and confidence for skating and for life at our birthday party open house on Sunday, Dec. 14, from 11:15 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Northfield Ice Arena. This event is FREE and OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. You do not need to be a skating school student to attend. All ages are welcome – there will be fun for the whole family! Please note: there is a $4 fee paid to the City of Northfield for rental skates. Rental skates are first-come, first-served.
11:15 a.m.-12 p.m. – Skate with us! Try skating with fun game stations and casual instruction from Northfield Skating School’s certified staff coaches. All ages and levels are welcome.
12-12:30 p.m. – Performances! Grab a hot cocoa from the concession stand and watch NSS athletes and special guests jump and spin their way across the ice! Performances will feature Learn to Skate through Adult and Gold Test athletes.
12:30-2 p.m. – Inspired? Can’t pull yourself off the ice? Stay for public open skate. $5 admission fee.
- First 30 participants to check in will receive a goodie bag!
- Give the Gift of Skating! Anyone who registers for winter lessons during the birthday party will receive their choice of a FREE GIFT.
- NEW logos and a NEW era of NSS means ALL NEW MERCH, just in time for the holidays. Stop by our merch table to browse new items and complete your holiday shopping.
- All participants who enter the ice will need to have a guardian sign a waiver before skating – please check in at the front table when you arrive.
- You may even see a very special, fluffy teddy bear whose name starts with “S” and ends with “am!”
Northfield Soccer Club
Soccer registration is happening now!
Registration is open for the Northfield Soccer Club’s winter training and winter futsal programs, and we are taking late registrants for our spring/summer 2026 traveling program. Sign up at www.northfieldsoccer.org or contact Tammy at admin@northfieldsoccer.org.
- Winter Training (U11–U18): Players train over the course of 8 Sundays from January through March, for 90 minutes at a time. Located at the Dundas Dome. $160 per player.
- Winter Futsal (U11–U18): Sessions are held once weekly on either Monday or Wednesday evenings, depending on age, from January through March. Located at the Northfield Community Education Center gym. $110 per player.
- Spring/summer 2026 Traveling (U10–U18): Tryouts will be held in early 2026 for age groups that have enough players for multiple teams. Players must be registered to try out. Teams will begin practice in early April in the Dundas Dome before moving outside for the season, practicing 2–3 times per week. Games begin in early May and continue until July, depending on how far the team advances. Teams usually play one or two games per week and 10–12 total games per season, plus one to two tournaments per season. Cost is $550 or $600, depending on age.
Northfield Wrestling Club
Registration is open for all ages! Youth: intro to wrestling, girls team only, novice, and advanced wrestling. More information is also available on the middle school and high school wrestling programs. Learn more and register on our website.
